Buying, Pickup & Delivery on Akedi

Last updated 1 September 2026

1. How buying works on Akedi

Akedi is a classifieds marketplace and seller-shop platform. Buyers can discover products through listings, categories, search, seller shop pages, Reels and Akedi Live, then communicate with sellers through Akedi chat or other contact options made available by the seller.

Unless a particular Akedi feature clearly states otherwise, the seller remains responsible for the product and the buyer and seller agree directly on the final price, payment method, pickup or delivery arrangement and any after-sale terms.

2. Akedi does not currently operate general delivery

Akedi does not currently operate its own general delivery fleet or courier service for marketplace listings. In most transactions:

  • The seller states whether pickup or delivery is available;
  • The buyer and seller agree on the meeting place, courier, delivery fee and who bears the cost;
  • A seller may use their own rider, driver or another independent courier;
  • Delivery delays, failed delivery and delivery charges are normally resolved directly between the buyer, seller and any chosen courier.

3. Product discovery tools do not replace inspection

Akedi provides tools intended to help buyers understand an item before making a decision. Depending on the seller and listing, these may include product photos, descriptions, specifications, seller shop pages, Reels, product videos, reviews and Akedi Live demonstrations.

These tools improve discovery and communication, but they do not amount to an Akedi guarantee that an item will meet a buyer's expectations. Buyers should still confirm important details directly with the seller.

4. Common ways deals are completed

  • In-person pickup: the buyer meets the seller, inspects the item and completes the transaction.
  • Seller delivery: a shop or seller may offer its own rider, driver or delivery arrangement, with any fee agreed in advance.
  • Third-party courier: the buyer and seller may agree to use an independent courier or delivery service.
  • Shop pickup: a seller with a public Akedi shop may direct customers to its physical shop or another agreed collection point.

5. Safety tips for buyers

  • For high-value items, avoid sending money before you are satisfied that the item and seller are genuine.
  • Use Akedi chat where practical so important discussions remain available in the conversation.
  • Review the listing, seller shop, photos, Reels or Live demonstration where available.
  • Ask about condition, warranty, accessories, documents, delivery costs and return terms before paying.
  • For in-person transactions, meet in a safe, public or established business location where practical.
  • Test electronics, vehicles and other high-value goods before completing payment where possible.

6. Safety tips for sellers

  • Describe products accurately and keep photos, videos and prices up to date.
  • Clearly state whether pickup or delivery is available and any related fee.
  • Do not hand over an item until you have independently confirmed payment.
  • Use trusted riders, drivers or delivery partners when offering delivery.
  • Any installment, top-up, trade-in or seller-financing arrangement is agreed directly between the buyer and seller unless Akedi expressly states that it is providing that particular service.

7. Seller shop pages

Sellers may operate public Akedi shop pages with branding, product listings, shop information and other available presentation features. A shop page, verification indicator, package badge or promotional placement does not mean Akedi owns the seller's products or guarantees a transaction.

8. Future Akedi delivery or transaction services

Akedi may introduce optional delivery, escrow, payment, logistics or other transaction-support services in future. If we do, the applicable price, eligibility rules and specific terms will be shown clearly before a user chooses that service.
